En el centro de esta industria est\u00e1 <strong>INVAP S.E.<\/strong> (Investigaci\u00f3n Aplicada Sociedad del Estado), fundada en 1976 en Bariloche, R\u00edo Negro, por la Comisi\u00f3n Nacional de Energ\u00eda At\u00f3mica (CNEA) y el gobierno provincial. INVAP lidera en el <strong>dise\u00f1o, integraci\u00f3n y construcci\u00f3n de equipos de alta complejidad<\/strong>, como <strong>reactores nucleares<\/strong>, sat\u00e9lites y radares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Historia de INVAP en el Sector Nuclear<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Desde los a\u00f1os 70, INVAP desarrolla <strong>sistemas de c\u00e1lculo para dise\u00f1o y optimizaci\u00f3n de reactores<\/strong>. En los 80, export\u00f3 su primer <strong>reactor nuclear de investigaci\u00f3n llave en mano<\/strong> a Argelia, iniciando su expansi\u00f3n internacional. Ha exportado <strong>reactores de investigaci\u00f3n<\/strong> a pa\u00edses como Per\u00fa, Pa\u00edses Bajos, Argelia, Egipto y Australia, consolid\u00e1ndose como l\u00edder en <strong>reactores multiprop\u00f3sito<\/strong> y para <strong>producci\u00f3n de radiois\u00f3topos m\u00e9dicos<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Proyecto CAREM: Innovaci\u00f3n en Reactores Modulares<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El <strong>CAREM<\/strong> (Central Argentina de Elementos Modulares), desarrollado desde 1984 por CNEA e INVAP, es un <strong>reactor modular peque\u00f1o (SMR)<\/strong> de agua a presi\u00f3n integrada (iPWR) con capacidad de 100 MWt (25-32 MWe). Dise\u00f1ado para ser <strong>seguro, econ\u00f3mico y modular<\/strong>, utiliza <strong>enfriamiento pasivo<\/strong> y componentes fabricados en f\u00e1brica para ensamblaje en sitio. El prototipo <strong>CAREM-25<\/strong>, en construcci\u00f3n en Lima, Buenos Aires, es el primer <strong>SMR dise\u00f1ado \u00edntegramente en Argentina<\/strong>. A pesar de retrasos por ajustes presupuestarios en 2024, se espera su operaci\u00f3n en <strong>2027<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Argentina planea expandir el uso de CAREM y otros SMRs, como el <strong>ACR-300 (CANDU)<\/strong>, con potencial para <strong>exportar reactores nucleares<\/strong> a mercados emergentes en Am\u00e9rica Latina y \u00c1frica, respaldado por la <strong>IAEA<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Colaboraciones en la Industria Nuclear<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>IMPSA<\/strong> (Industrias Metal\u00fargicas Pescarmona S.A.) fabrica componentes clave para CAREM, como <strong>generadores de vapor<\/strong>, reforzando la capacidad de Argentina para <strong>exportar tecnolog\u00eda nuclear completa<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Procesamiento de Uranio para Centrales Nucleares<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Argentina opera tres <strong>centrales nucleares<\/strong> (Atucha I y II, PHWR con uranio enriquecido; Embalse, CANDU con uranio natural), que generan el <strong>5-10% de la electricidad nacional<\/strong>. El ciclo de combustible es parcialmente dom\u00e9stico, pero depende de importaciones debido a la interrupci\u00f3n de la miner\u00eda de uranio en los 90.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Miner\u00eda y Recursos de Uranio<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Recursos estimados: <strong>~11,000 toneladas de uranio (tU)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Producci\u00f3n minera detenida desde 1992, pero con planes de reinicio en Salta, Chubut y Mendoza.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Empresas como <strong>UrAmerica<\/strong> y colaboraciones con <strong>NANO Nuclear<\/strong> impulsan la <strong>industria uran\u00edfera local<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Procesamiento y Enriquecimiento<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Dioxitek<\/strong> (CNEA) opera una planta en C\u00f3rdoba que produce <strong>di\u00f3xido de uranio (UO2)<\/strong> con capacidad de 150 t\/a\u00f1o. Se planea una nueva planta en Formosa. Argentina cuenta con una planta piloto de <strong>enriquecimiento en Pilcaniyeu<\/strong>, pero importa uranio enriquecido para Atucha, mientras Embalse usa uranio natural.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fabricaci\u00f3n de Combustible<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>CONUAR<\/strong> (CNEA-privado) en Ezeiza fabrica <strong>elementos combustibles<\/strong>.
